You started Stand & Deliver with Yohanna Logan?
CP: No I started it. I brought Yohanna in. Yohanna was my Creative Director and she came in kind of as my second eye. She helped me with the stuff for the Fall, she’s an amazing stylist. She’s such an incredible lady and has such impeccable style. We worked together for a while and then she got offered some other big styling jobs and what not so she’s off doing that right now so, it’s pretty much me. I’ve been doing clothes for ten years. I did custom stuff at Maxfield and then started the line about six months before I brought Yohanna on.
What made you want to start your own line?
CP: Well [laughs] about the only two things I can get paid for is playing bass and sucking dick [laughs]… It’s the only thing I know how to make money at! Nah I’m just kidding but no not really [laughs]. I just like taking things apart and putting things back together. I got this opportunity to try and do a collection and I did it and this is what’s happening. We didn’t even know that a spring collection was happening until the Janette thing was happening and I thought I may as well do one. Basically everyone else’s stuff is done and I’m two pieces in the can right now and it’s starts in two weeks [laughs]. It’ll be alright though, it’s going to be amazing!
You mentioned that for you Stand & Deliver is more of a lifestyle than just a brand or fashion, do you find the fashion industry challenging?
CP: No way! It’s amazing. This is all just loads of fun. We’re just going to go into Gen Art and we’re just going to take that place over, they’re not even going to know what hit them. It’s going to be ridiculous! I have Cassius – he won’t call himself my Creative Director but he’s call himself my Visionary Cohort – helping to make sure we are a little chaos enthused at the Gen Art show. It’s going to be fun. It’s a blast! I get to work with all of my friends. It’s a dream.
Who is the most stylish person you know?
CP: [Laughs] I know a lot of stylish people I don’t think I can just pick one. Maybe the most stylish person I know is my 20-year-old intern Mick. He’ll ride his skateboard from Santa Monica & Western three miles to my shop with rolled up jeans, black socks, Vans, wearing my men’s stretch jeans carrying a purse! He’s the most stylish for sure.
