How To Get Conversations With Punx?
FINALLY the moment of truth! It’s time to share Conversations With Punx: A Spiritual Dialogue with you all! It’s taken a long time to get to this point. Thank you so much everyone for being so patient, understanding, supportive, encouraging and in-general just all-around rad!
Conversations With Punx: A Spiritual Dialogue is being released as a 12-zine series rolled out over 12-months. At the series conclusion it will be released in book form.
A zine will be available each month for 12-months starting September 2010. The first issue is over 80 pages, 30,000+ words, comprising of in-depth never before seen conversations (in Q&A format) with:
Don Letts (DJ/musician/radio host/film maker/Big Audio Dynamite)
Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat/Fugazi/the Evens/the Teen Idles/Dischord Records)
Greg Attonito (Bouncing Souls) & Shanti Wintergate
Johnny Siera (the Death Set)
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (the Mars Volta/ At The Drive-In)
Zine One’s foreword is written by Vic DiCara (108/Vedic Astrologer/Inside Out/Burn/Charge). Zine Two’s foreword is written by Greg Attonito (Bouncing Souls). Each zine will have a foreword written by one of the individuals I have spoken with.
The zines are hand-screenprinted from a hand-painted screen by Jhonny Hobo and are hand-bound. Each month’s cover will feature a design featuring a different quality/virtue that I found as commonalities between people I spoke to for the project. Zine One = Truth. Others will include: Courage, Love, Compassion, P.M.A. (positive mental attitude), Faith, Dedication, Creativity, Strength… and so on.

Subscribing insures you won’t miss an issue. You will be sent all back issues from the point at which you subscribe and all new zines as they are released.

One-Off Payment. Pay for all 12-zines up front at a saving and receive my extra, extra, extra utmost gratitude! As many of you know I have chosen to do this project independently. I’ve had a hand in all processes along the way right down to the screenprinted covers and hand binding.

All proceeds will go towards my next project Hip Hop Insight: Conversations of the Sprit as well as other zine, writing, art and music related endeavours.
Once ordered you can pick up Zine One on the launch + exhibition evening—September 2nd, 2010 at Bleeding Heart Gallery, Brisbane, Australia. Otherwise it will be mailed out to you after the launch date. We ship worldwide.
Also, just to let you all know, when the book version is released it will be a collected work of select conversations from the project. So if you want to experience Conversations With Punx in it’s full glory I encourage you to collect the limited edition zine series. The book will contain some new never before seen conversations as well!

Bink, this is such great news!!! I see you even have a piece with DestroyX from Angelspit in there ;3 Do you by chance have an interview with ZooG from Angelspit? I know DestroyX is the more popular of the two, but I always want to hear more about ZooG.
I’m really tight on money right now b/c I’m trying to set up a move from California all the way back to D.C. @_@ Then I gotta find a place so I’m not homeless! But I will definitely post a link to this page to draw more readers to your wonderful zine. Sound cool?
